Summer 2004

We went to the zoo on 29 June 2004. Grandpa Dysart came with us. You really attached yourself to him. Here you are helping him pull the wagon.
Sitting on a little elephant statue.
One of my favorite pictures of you! We are at the beach in Oceanside, Oregon. I love the perfect shadow!

May 2004

After Dad came from Iraq - he didn't have to go back to work right away. There was only 6 weeks of school left anyway. Dad and I both knew we would move after the following school year was done and started on yard work so the house would sell better. Here you are helping Dad fill the wheelbarrow. It was so hot that day. I love what you are wearing. Shorts - good idea. Snow boots. Not a good idea. You were also using a little tiny shovel. I love this picture!

Helping Dad spread the gravel for our new shed. You were Dad's little shadow when he came home. I don't know how much you missed him when he was gone because you were so little - but boy how excited were you to follow him around when he came home!

April 2004 - It's your 3rd birthday!

Last year we had your birthday early. This year we had your birthday a few days late. Why? Because Dad came home! :) Mom wanted him to not miss any more birthdays. It meant a lot to him.
You were into "Finding Nemo" this year. You have a Nemo cake.
Dad is bringing your lighted cake to you.
Wow!

Spring 2004

Grandma Zaugg and Aunt Carrie came down from Oregon during Spring Break. Here you are with Grandma.
A picture of you and mom for dad.

Fall 2003

We had one super terrific thunderstorm in September. It left gigantic puddles in our yard in Eagar, Arizona. You are using them properly.
October 2003. Mom just doesn't have the arm strength to carve pumpkins so we permanent markered them.
Halloween. You are Thomas the Tank Engine. It was so windy and super cold this day. We didn't stay out long.

Summer 2003

We (I mean I) decided to get a dog. That meant I had to drive 10 hours from Eagar, Arizona to Salt Lake City, Utah by myself with a nursing baby, a toddler (you) and 2 older boys. Taking the same home again PLUS the dog. I don't know what I was thinking. I probably wasn't.
Anyway - here you are with Grandpa Rogers loving on Copper our dog. Unfortunately - you and Nephi developed nasty allergies. Everytime you were around him your nose would start to run and sneezing would start right up. We had to find him a different home. I hope his new people were good to him.

Spring 2003

April 2003. You are 2 now!
Spring 2003 - Spring break. Grandma Zaugg and Aunt Carrie and cousins came. We celebrated your birthday a couple weeks early. You turned 2. Kyrsten Kayann and Christopher are watching you with the cake.
Look at all the neat Little People toys you got! You loved playing with them so much. You were a good sharer though if little brother Nephi wanted to play too.

December 2002

Your first time in the snow. At our house in Eagar, Arizona. We got about 6 inches or so.

Michael's Many Messes

You were a VERY busy toddler. Check out why....
November 2002. You were supposed to be on your bed sleeping. Instead - you emptied out the dresser - diapers and all - and slept on the floor. I left you there.
September 2003. Mom was in the shower. This is what I came out to. I have no idea what possessed you to do this. At least this was BEFORE the vegetable oil/honey incident. Neither one come out of the carpet very well.
September 2003. Boy you were busy this month! Baking via the living room floor with some toys sprinkled here and there. You liked emptying the cupboards. All over the house. It made for interesting cooking - not being able to find
certain pots or pans.

November 2002

I don't think you were feeling well. Judging by the rosy cheeks - I would guess you were teething some more. I think you were feeling a little down too as Nephi had joined the family and you couldn't be mom's sidekick as much anymore. Snuggling with Dad.

Summer 2002

29 June 2002. We had stopped at a rest area to rest, use the restroom and eat some lunch. We were traveling from Oregon to Utah to see family on our way back to Arizona.

Easter 2002

We hid some Easter eggs in our backyard. You and your brothers went out to find them. Dad is helping you. We lived across from the high school in Eagar, Arizona and the back yard was all rock.

April 2002 - Your first birthday

Your cake was store-bought this year. Mommy was just pregnant with Nephi and sick.
A school bus full of blocks! You played with this for a long time.

Camping with Michael

In 2002 you had the essentials. Some books, a truck, the tent, blanket and a couple toys.
In 2003 you were camping in style. You have the tent, a stove, fire, food, utensils - man you are one prepared little boy!

The Many Faces of Michael

January 2003.
"Is there something you needed?"
January 2003. We stopped at a rest area on the way to Phoenix, Arizona. One of your first snow experiences. It really wasn't very cold outside. We were taking Uncle Erich back to the airport. He had come to visit with Dad before he was deployed to Iraq.
One of my favorite faces you used to make.
You always did this for "UH-OH!"
Yep - you even cry. This is your first birthday by the way. I think you were tired.
Can you say "Yogurt?"
And you loved to have a blanket on your head when it was cold out. We'll just call you blanket boy if that's okay.

Christmas 2001 - Your first one

You can try taking off the paper with your mouth. I guess gumming it would eventually work.
Opening a present with help from mom.

Even more baby pics - cuz you were so darn cute!

When you were 5 months old you could stand by the side of the tub waiting for the water. Look at all the baby fat! I just want to squish those little legs.
You loved bath time - and still do.
You are 7 months old here.

More newborn to 6 month baby pictures

6 months old.
July 2001. Dad had sinus surgery and was laying down. He wanted to hold you and play a little bit. You fell asleep like this on Dad's chest.

When you were a little baby - you weren't a little baby. You were very heavy and it was hard for me to hold you all the time. We had this bouncy chair that I would put you in while I was baking or making dinner. You were such a mama's boy and this seemed to work. I guess playing was really hard work cuz you fell asleep!

This picture was taken in May 2001 at a friend's house. There was a group of ladies that met once a week for scrapbooking. I didn't scrapbook - but I liked to go anyway just to visit.
Within the first month of you being home.
1 month old. This picture was taken in Phoenix, Arizona. We went to visit Grandma Dysart who was visiting Aunt Marilyn. You were actually smiling!

29 April 2001 was your blessing day. Grandpa and Grandma Rogers came down for your baby blessing. Your Great Grandma Stone made this white blanket for you. Grandma Dysart made the blessing outfit. It was the same one Christopher used.

Grandma took this picture before we headed to church. I could barely sit. After I had you I had stitches all over the place. I think the grand total was something like 60+. L-R we have Candace, Michael, Christopher, Donovan and Russell.
